David Duke Rips Into Trump and Virginia Governor

Alt-right white nationalist David Duke attacked both President Trump and Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe after white nationalists turned violent at a Virginia rally Saturday.

KKK members and alt-right activists conglomerated and eventually rioted against counter-protesters and police at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA Saturday morning. The “Unite the Right” rally was to protest the removal of a statue of Gen. Robert E. Lee in the city.

Gov. McAuliffe declared a state of emergency after violence broke out.

Former Louisiana congressman Duke attacked McAuliffe, saying the governor “used his authority to shut down our free speech because of his personal opinions.”

Duke called the white nationalists’ opponents “scum” and went on to accuse the Virginia police of treating them unfairly.

The violence is coming from Communists & anarchists, not from Nationalists. It’s clear the Virginia governor supports these scum.  https://twitter.com/GovernorVA/status/896388521103151104

The alt-right leader attacked President Trump’s condemnation of the violence by the white nationalist protesters, claiming his group was nothing but peaceful.

Our people were peacefully assembling and attacked by the same radical leftists who invaded your meetings and attacked your supporters. https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/896420822780444672

So, after decades of White Americans being targeted for discriminated & anti-White hatred, we come together as a people, and you attack us? https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/896420822780444672

I would recommend you take a good look in the mirror & remember it was White Americans who put you in the presidency, not radical leftists. https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/896420822780444672

White Americans are so afraid to speak out that we’ve allowed our country to be invaded and our children to be propagandized by marxists. https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/896420822780444672

Duke’s rant did not stop the president from condemning “in the strongest terms” the violence in Charlottesville later on Saturday at a press conference.

“When I watch Charlottesville to me it’s very, very sad,” the chief executive said. “We have to respect each other,” he said. “Ideally we have to love each other.”
