The 42-year-old didn’t hold back…
She is fearlessly honest – even in the face of baying mobs.
So it’s perhaps not surprising that Katie Hopkins has flirted with the idea of being transgender – and doesn’t care if she’s mistaken for a man.
The TV star, who first rose to prominence on The Apprentice, made the comments while promoting her new hit book, Rude, in this week’s Closer magazine.
Speaking to the glossy title, she says: “Do I massively feel like a woman or a girl? No. I definitely feel more male. And I come across as more male; I get the world more from a male point of view.
“I don’t care of they see me as a woman or a man. Everyone assumes that I’m a lesbian or that I look like a drag queen. And, yes, I do look like a third-rater Ellen DeGeneres.”
The divisive star, who frequently addresses Islam, feminism and mental health in her work, also confessed to once having suicidal feelings.
Specifically related to her epilepsy, which was so severe it required brain surgery, she says it was long an option during violent fits.
“It’s awkward to talk about,” she added.
“I wouldn’t want my children to think I was going to kill myself, but, certainly, there were times when I’ve walked out of the house and it would’ve been easier to toddle off and not have another night of fits.”
“Do I massively feel like a woman or a girl? No. I definitely feel more male. And I come across as more male; I get the world more from a male point of view.
Her comments come shortly after aggressive protesters staged a violent demonstration outside the Lewes Speakers Festival, last week.
More than 100 activists took to the streets parading with banners and chanting slogans.
Her appearance was cancelled and a security guard physically injured.
